II.DYE.IV Part 1
This is going to be a couple post, but I wanted to make a few blog entries dedicated to some of the shoots I have done. The photos are sitting in a file with no direction and I need to get them out somewhere; I remembered “Oh yeah, I have a blog *laughs like an idiot* so why not post them there.”
So, here is a blog entry dedicated to the first shoot I did with Jake for his brand II.DYE.IV and this is not the only entry for this, but just the first of 4 parts. This was also my first time doing a “photoshoot” per se for something or someone. Because of this first shoot with Jake, it helped my confidence in continuing my art in various expressions, which in this fashion it is my photography.
I’ve been shooting film for about 3 or 4 years now and over the course of those years I have become more comfortable with a camera in my hand, my process in how I learn is that I pick something up very fast, but learning things to a fault takes more time and patience for me, I need to know why things work the way they work for me to learn or understand what it is I am doing, that includes photography. Learning how to shoot film has had its fair share of trail and error, but I believe that comes with everything. I’m a culinary student/chef and you really have to be okay with fucking up a few eggs until you get it perfect and even then, it’ll never be perfect. I love having mistakes in my photos because I want my photos to feel gritty.
